WEEK 4 - WEEK 6 (EXECUTION OF THE PROJECT)

Hi there and welcome back to the next post regarding the Social Engagement course. As always, I will update about the activities and what I've been through in the 3 weeks period as in the title. So, firstly thank you for spending your precious time to read my blog and be sure to comment if there is anything I can do to improve on the part. So let's get right into it.

During the meeting session in the 4th week, our lecturer, Dr Por Lip Yee did mention that in order for our proposal of the activities to be validated from the Dean, we need to adjust a little bit with our project scope. Instead of us making the video, we have to be the one who need to make people do the video. In other words, our course will be requiring us to organize the activities for people to make the videos. All of us were given choice to join specific committee according to our interest. The committees available are Publicity Committee, Event Coordinate Committee, Judging Committee, Public Relation Committee and lastly the Multimedia Committee. With each of the committee assigned with specific tasks and goals, perhaps this is enough to smoothly conduct the project in the near future. Oh and as for my choice, I choose to join the Multimedia Committee since I've got some experience in editing video during my last semester.

As for the 5th week, we did not have any meeting since our lecturer want us to allocate that time to discuss and plan more about what we are going to do. So, the students involved in handling the whole committee decided to create a more detailed Committee List via the Google Sheets in order to deliver the tasks for each of the Committee in a more efficient manner. The list also stated the deadline for each of the task according to the committee respectively. This way, we will be more aware of what to do and plan for the future work.

And as for the 6th week, we had our meeting session as usual since there were 3 things to be discussed in the meeting as informed by our lecturer in the WhatsApp group. During the meeting, Dr Por Lip Yee happily informed us that the proposal for our project have been validated by the Dean. It's good to hear that our efforts has started to bear its fruits. So, firstly the leaders have to update regarding the progress of the project. This included explaining the tasks assigned in the committee that seems to be confusing to the other committee members. Also, our lecturer also reminded us to update our blog since we've reached the 6th week and this the reason why I'm posting this blog today. Last but not least, our lecturer also mentioned that we can start to evaluate our members using the peer assessment evaluation which will be created later. The evaluation are based on teamwork, communication skill, leadership and giving ideas.

So, that's pretty much of everything that I've done from week 3 up to week 6 and I hope my explanation and elaboration regarding the activities don't confuse you. And as always, you are welcome to leave comment if there is any part that I can improve.

Thank you and have a great day!
